Lovely picks Christine! In addition to making sure your florist and baker work together, some flowers are toxic so they shouldn’t come in contact with the actual cake, here are some ways to prep the flowers: wrap the stems with florist tape, use posy picks, dip the stems in paraffin wax, place a piece of parchment between the cake and the flower, make sure the stamens of toxic flowers also don’t touch the cake, and for large toppers have the florist arrange it in a small self contained dish and have the baker add supports to the top tier.
